Michael Kay went off on certain New Yorkers.
During an episode of “The Michael Kay Show” on ESPN Radio on Friday, the Yankees’ play-by-play announcer was not“Is fandom different now?” Kay questioned while on air with co-hosts Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg. “Why are you rooting for the Mets if you’re a Yankee fan? Are you out of your minds?”"All of a sudden though, Yankee and Mets fans, kumbaya. I am not buying it! And the ones that are, they're not real Yankee fans.
“All of a sudden though, Yankee and Mets fans, kumbaya. I am not buying it!” Kay said. “And the ones that are, they’re not real Yankee fans. If they’re just reveling in the Mets having a great win, they’re not real fans!”But Ferrara, also a Knicks fan, has his own reasons.“I am not a Mets fan, I’m a Yankee fan, but for the first time in my life I could honestly say, I’m rooting for the Mets in the next round,” he said. “This is strictly my dislike for Philly fans after that Knicks-Sixers series.
