COPPELL – We now begin the sensationalized portion of the Cowboys’ offseason. Pass rusher Micah Parsons hasn’t attended the Cowboys’ offseason program that’s...
Parsons isn’t mad at anybody. The Cowboys, it seems, are not mad Parsons is missing from The Star.Parsons said he’s bulking up — currently, he’s 251 pounds — with the objective to deal with the pounding he took last season. Parsons was listed at 245 pounds and at times needed more muscle to handle the double-teaming he encountered rushing off the edge. There was a hand, an ankle, a knee, it seemed as if something was always bothering Parsons.
“Just wanted to increase my explosiveness and add on weight the right way,” Parsons said Wednesday afternoon. “Strengthen it up, eat the right way, and anything that I can do possible to be the best player that I can be.” Parsons isn’t a foster child, having grown up with a mother and father, but he cares about kids in the community and wants to help.
Parsons said his favorite burger is The Cowboy. It’s got double meat, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon, diced onions and barbecue sauce. Parsons asks to hold the pickles. Not a big fan of pickles. When the proper context is presented you can understand why Parsons isn’t here. You might not like it, but it’s not like Parsons is just going to Stars Stanley Cup playoff games hanging out and eating popcorn. Parsons is getting ready for the season, in his own way.
