The Dallas Cowboys are moving on from Mike McCarthy, and one of the team’s top players has made his first public comments on the decision.

“It’s very, very interesting, man. Obviously, very sad, because the relationships, you know, we had with Coach McCarthy, and everything he’s done for our program,” said Parsons. “Three straight 12-5 seasons, playoff appearances, and obviously an unfortunate year due to injuries and things like that, but it is devastating.McCarthy is the only head coach Parsons has known since he was drafted by the Cowboys with the No. 12 overall pick in 2021.

Now, Parsons is preparing to hear a new leading voice in the locker room for the first time in his professional career, a move he called “a complete reset” for the Cowboys.“I trust my owner , I trust our GM, I trust will McClay, that we’re going to make the right decisions,” Parsons said. “We’re going to make the right decision when it comes to coaching. We don’t know who’s getting what.

As far as roster construction, Parsons made it known that he would appreciate being part of the process with whichever coaches are in place this offseason to help properly utilize his skills in the coming seasons.“Hopefully, I’m brought up into those conversations about, you know, who I would like to play with, bring around,” Parsons said. “I hope I get that level of treatment. ... Meet with this new DC and bring into this conversation of how they want to use me.
