Ruben Rocha of Sheinbaum’s Morena party. The U.S. has pressured Sheinbaum to take tougher action on drug cartels, assisting with assassinations of cartel figures and taking a supporting role in Mexico’s assassination of Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, in February.
