The Mets are sellers.
Veteran closer David Robertson was traded to the Marlins on Thursday night after the Amazin’s 2-1 win over the Nationals at Citi Field, The Post’s Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman reported.
The Mets are receiving two minor leaguers in the deal, infielder Marco Vargas and catcher Ronald Hernandez, according to Sherman.David Robertson was traded to the Marlins on Thursday.Robertson, who won a World Series with the Yankees in 2009, had a strong season for the Mets as their closer in place of the injured Edwin Diaz.Robertson, who is 4-2 with a 2.05 ERA, has 14 saves this season.
The Mets, who are 48-54, trail the Braves by 17 games in the NL East and are seven games behind the Reds for the final NL wild card spot.
