Things seem to be going well for the Mets down on the farm.
for Double-A Binghamton, and on Thursday, pitcher Joander Suarez threw a seven-inning no-hitter for the Rumble Ponies a little more than a week into his first stint in the Eastern League.He threw 53 strikes on 78 overall pitches.The 23-year-old has yet to give up a single hit since being promoted from high High-A Brooklyn last week, a streak of 13 innings.
He was previously named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week after he struck out six over six hitless innings in his first Double-A start on Aug. 31, a 1-0 win for the Rumble Ponies.The righty, who is not on MLB.com’s top Mets prospect list, previously had Tommy John surgery and was limited to 16 games on the mound over 2021 and 2022.🎉 Joander Suarez spins a no-hitter 🎉
