The Mets’ uniforms featured a new look Tuesday that is presumably Steve Cohen-approved.
The Mets owner and many fans have shared a distaste for the patches that are on the left sleeves of their jerseys.
Amid an outcry from Mets fans, who complained as soon as the patches were debuted on Opening Day, Cohen vowed to tweak them. The move cleared the way for Jose Butto, who required a corresponding IL stint to be eligible to be called back up, to be summoned in time to start Tuesday.“It’s another challenge, but it kind of worked out,” Showalter said of the timing of the injury, which Showalter said occurred while Uceta was working out after Sunday’s loss in San Francisco.
