Max Scherzer will get first dibs in the regular season, with his co-ace and fellow three-time Cy Young award winner scheduled for the home opener a week later.
The Mets’ rotation plan to start the season, according to sources, will have Scherzer on the mound for Opening Day in Miami on March 30.
Last season, Scherzer was coming off an injury late in camp that pushed him to the second game, giving Tylor Megill the opener in Washington.
