The vote is expected during the Metro board's meeting scheduled for 10 a.m., when members will consider the staff recommendation for a “The extension project is expected to increase the number of riders on the light rail by at least 100,000 per day. Staff have estimated the extension project to cost between $11 billion to $15 billion. Three possible routes will be considered by board members, but Metro staff recommended the San Vicente-Fairfax alignment. If it passes, according to LA Metro, the funding would become available in fiscal year 2041 and construction would be complete sometime between 2047 and 2049. Major leaders in the region like the mayors from Inglewood and West Hollywood and LA County supervisor Lindsey Horvath will be rallying outside metro headquarters in downtown Thursday morning, asking Metro to move forward.
