Metro-North's New Haven and Harlem lines in the Bronx have re-opened after crews repaired a buckled girder in a parkway overpass above the tracks.

Crews from the New York State Department of Transportation were doing repairs on the Bronx River Parkway overnight when the girder buckled, prompting the partial suspension of Metro-North service because of safety concerns.

There was no Yankee Clipper service to Saturday's Yankee Stadium game against the Kansas City Royals. Contractors working for the New York State Department of Transportation have succeeded in removing a fascia girder from the bridge carrying the Bronx River Parkway over the Metro North railroad tracks and have re-opened one lane of the northbound Bronx River Parkway between Gun Hill Road and Nereid Avenue in the Bronx.
