David said the current positivity rate in Metro Manila climbed to 20.4 percent on May 3, from 14 percent on April 26.He previously stated that the spread of the Covid-19 Omicron subvariant XBB.1.16 may have contributed to the increase in Covid-19 cases.
Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from among those who have been tested for Covid-19.Meanwhile, David pointed out that hospital occupancy for Covid-19 patients in Metro Manila has increased slightly to 25.5 percent. On Thursday, the Department of Health reported 1,190 new Covid-19 cases across the country, of which 513 cases were recorded in Metro Manila.He said the country's current positivity rate is 18 percent, up from 17.1 percent the day before.
