Metallica, the iconic heavy metal band, is providing significant financial assistance to communities ravaged by wildfires in California. The band, through its All Within My Hands foundation, is channeling $500,000 to support relief efforts.

Metallica, the multi-platinum-selling rock band that originated in Los Angeles in 1981 before relocating to the Bay Area and becoming the best-selling metal act in history, is once again demonstrating its commitment to philanthropy. Through its All Within My Hands charitable foundation, the band is donating $500,000 to support fire relief efforts in California.

The grants will be channeled through two organizations: the California Community Foundation's Wildfire Recovery Fund and the Pasadena Community Foundation's Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund. The California Community Foundation has a long-standing history of providing resources to those in need, and for the Los Angeles County wildfires, the CCF has activated its Wildfire Recovery Fund to address both immediate relief and long-term recovery needs within affected communities. This fund supports a wide range of critical services, including housing, case management, mental health care, and medical attention for displaced residents. It also contributes to the rebuilding of essential infrastructure like emergency communication systems and offers financial disaster assistance, labor law education, and immigration services to low-wage workers and immigrant families. The Pasadena Community Foundation has established the Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund to directly support those impacted by the ongoing fires. This fund will provide assistance with immediate needs during the active fire situations and will continue to support critical long-term recovery efforts once the fires are contained. The community will face the immense task of rebuilding what has been destroyed, and the PCF's fund aims to be a vital resource in this process
