Just a day after making its debut, Meta Platforms Inc.’s META Twitter rival Threads has surpassed 50 million signups, reports say.
On Friday morning, Threads user @joe_scannell posted a screenshot of a friend’s Threads sign-up number, indicating that more than 50 million users had joined the platform. Late Thursday Alex Heath, an editor at The Verge posted on Threads that the app had surpassed 48 million signups, citing internal Meta data.

“This launch will no doubt create more twists and turns,” Pescatore added. “The latest chapter in the Musk and Twitter saga and user discontent clearly demonstrates the need for a true alternative.”
