The parent company of Instagram and Facebook will begin testing Meta Verified, a subscription service that allowsusers of the social media platforms to pay to verify their account and get a blue badge, Zuckerberg said in anThe service will also give subscribers "direct access to customer support" and added protection against impersonation, according to Zuckerberg."This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services," he said in the update.

There will not be any changes to accounts that are already verified while Meta tests the service, a spokesperson told USA TODAY in an email.
