Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has steadily increased its investment in Huntsville since 2018 to over $1.5 billion.
A Huntsville foundation that delivers to local teachers free classroom supplies – from pencils and books to room décor - announced the largest single donation in its history Tuesday., which operates a free supply store on Leeman Ferry Road that is open to teachers and staff in Madison County’s three public school systems, received a $150,000 grant from Meta., CEO Alison Kling said in a news release.
“We are proud to continue investing in the long-term vitality of public education in Madison County, home to our Huntsville Data Center, and support the work of Free 2 Teach, an organization that meets the practical needs of teachers and students and goes above and beyond to bring together the wider community to make an impact,” Meta Community Development Regional Manager Henry Thornton said.
