The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for rain from 3pm on Monday until midnight
Scots are facing flooding tonight as torrential rain is forecast to batter parts of the country until midnight.
The regions and local authorities affected are Dumfries and Galloway, Scottish Borders, East Ayrshire, South Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire, with forecasters predicting as much as 50mm of rain could fall in some places. A spokesperson from the Met Office said: "Heavy rain through this afternoon and evening, falling on to already saturated ground, is expected to cause some localised flooding.
