Summer is not yet over with another blast of warm air expected in the UK, according to the experts
Temperatures in parts of the UK look set to head back over 20C for another blast of late summer, according to the Met Office. The start of September saw a record-breaking heatwave with more than a week of consecutive days around 30C.
"At this stage, already the real indication is that they'll be slightly increased and above average for certain during that warm spell, so that might allow us to push 20C, or 20C plus in some locations." The system will pull in air from Europe to the UK - so the temperatures here will depend on how warm it is in countries like Spain. Typically at this time of year the UK gets it weather coming from the North, where it is much colder.
Ian Simpson, forecaster for independent team Netweather, looking at October wrote: "Temperatures are likely to be above normal early in the period, but trending average to fairly cool late in the period. It will probably be drier than average for most, particularly in the west and northwest."
