The Met Office has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms in parts of Nottinghamshire on Bank Holiday Monday. and covers northern parts of the county.
This includes towns such as Mansfield and Worksop, which are basking in sun as of Monday morning. "Thunderstorms and heavy downpours may cause flooding and travel disruption," reads the Met Office website. The forecaster told people to expect the weather to create difficult driving conditions and a "slight chance" of power cuts. It added: "Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services."There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
