Forecasters have predicted that the rainy weather will turn 'much cooler' as we reach the end of the week.
Over the past few days, Scotland has seen plenty of torrential rain which has led to extreme widespread flooding in certain areas.
That's according to the Met Office, who has predicted that a "cold snap" is on the way thanks to some colder conditions appearing in the north of the country. But when the weekend hits, things will get significantly cooler, and some snow is even likely to appear on Scottish mountains. Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist, Brent Walker, said: “As we head through second half of this week cold air will push southwards across the country and there is a risk that showers over mountains of Scotland could turn wintry. By the weekend we expect all regions of the UK to be in the cold airmass and overnight frosts are possible.
