Temperatures are expected to be below the average, following on from predicted upcoming cloudy and foggy conditions across the country.
Snow could fall in Scotland from as early as next week, according to a forecast from the United Kingdom's national weather and climate service.
It said: "Following the introduction of some colder air to many areas at the start of this period, with the potential for snow showers in at least northern Scotland, high pressure looks to be the dominant feature during the first part of November. From Monday through to Thursday there will be cloudy conditions with some rain and drizzle possible "almost anywhere." Moving on well into November, the Met Office said the more miserable conditions could well continue.
