Met police in bid to sack senior black cop
THE SACKING of senior black cop Novlett Robyn Williams would show the police in a bad light, a court has heard.
The Tribunal accepted that Williams had no sexual interest in the video, did not view it, and that it was swiftly deleted. However, Williams wasto 200 hours community service for having the clip on her phone in November 2019, and was sacked by the Met. Williams, who was commended for her work after the Grenfell Tower disaster, had an exemplary disciplinary record, was highly regarded for her work and was awarded the Queen’s Policing Medal in 2003.
Studd said: “The [Tribunal] did not look at the situation through the prism of the police officers with serious convictions while serving, but looked at the individual officers.
