A stolen car dumped in Gold Coast bushland has been graffitied with the words, “#JBK Jack Beasly Killers”, according to a social media post, sparking outrage. Jack Beasley was a 17-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in Surfers Paradise during a night out with friends on December 13, 2019. Two men — who cannot be identified because they were youths at the time of the offence — were jailed for killing Jack, while three other people were acquitted over the crime.

On Sunday, a post on a Queensland crime Facebook page showing a silver Land Rover Discovery purportedly in bushland in Coomera. A photo inside the car shows the reference to Jack written in gold pen on the car’s dashboard. The car was stolen from Pimpama on August 19, a search of the police stolen car registry shows. The car has not yet been located by police. “We’ll certainly investigate and try and bring to justice whoever’s responsible for it,” Superintendent Peter Miles said.
