The district added in a statement that the suspected relationship was between Gonzalez and a former student at A.C. New Middle School, where he worked.
“Our commitment is to provide a nurturing environment where every student feels safe, respected, and empowered to pursue excellence,” she said. “Anything less than that is unacceptable.”According to jail records, Sergio Gonzalez also faces a charge of tampering with evidence. His bond did not appear to have been set for either charge as of Thursday morning.Julia James
