It can detect Escherichia coli (E.coli) and Coliform bacteria in treated or contaminated water sources.

She said the traditional method of conducting tests on water samples is usually done in a laboratory, which requires a lengthy 18 to 24 hours to complete, as well as more frequent observations to look out for bacterial growth. “Through a study conducted with the Ranhill SAJ Sri Gading central laboratory, Batu Pahat, this incubator was able to identify the presence of E.coli and Coliform bacteria in just six hours,” said the lecturer from the polytechnic’s Information and Communication Technology Department.
QR Water utilises two-factor authentication technology, ensuring that only users registered in the database can use the QR Water incubator and software.
