Manila Electric Company , the country’s largest electric distribution utility, has once again exemplified excellence on the global stage as it bagged four awards for its stakeholder management and corporate social responsibility initiatives at the recently concluded 2023 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
For its transformative initiative, “Electrification for Development: Improving the lives of last-mile Filipinos”, Meralco won a Bronze Stevie under the Innovative Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility category. The program highlighted how the electrification program of the company’s social development arm, One Meralco Foundation, improved the lives of people in unserved and underserved communities across the archipelago.
Completing Meralco’s haul in this year’s Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards is another Bronze Stevie under the category of Innovation in Video for its audiovisual material, “Meralco’s Spectrum on solar rooftop installations: The Gift that Keeps on Giving”. The 3-minute video encapsulated the benefits of investing in renewable energy, particularly in solar through the testimony of renowned environmental advocate, Illac Diaz.
