The fire started around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
8-10 additional area fire departments were brought to the scene to help get the flames under control. It took them several hours, even forcing the closure of Andrews Road for several hour during rush hour.
“At this point we’re thinking that the building is a total loss. When the original crews got on scene this morning around 4:30 the entire back side of the building was engulfed in fire,” said Mentor-on-the-Lake Fire Chief James Pechatsko. There was nobody in the bar when the fire started and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation. No one was hurt battling the blaze.
“The investigation unit is going to do their job and investigate this thoroughly,” said Chief Pechatsko.
