The chief of Goldsboro Fire Company No. 1, Doug Smith, said Peek was full of joy and enthusiastic about his contributions as a volunteer firefighter. When Peek wasn’t volunteering his time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and operating HAM radios.
