Here is a rundown of what’s scheduled in the region during the holiday
A solemn Memorial Day ceremony was held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Vicki Vellios Briner | Special to PennLiveCommunities throughout the central Pennsylvania region will be holding Memorial Day-related parades, services and other events to honor those members of the military that have died in our nation’s wars.
Here is a list of events scheduled this week. If your municipality’s event is not listed here, reach out to us at newstips@pennlive.com and we’ll add it.from noon to 3 p.m. May 26 Cedar Cliff High School JROTC Cadets, American Legion William H. Nauss Post #143 members, scouts, local churches and others will be in attendance. In addition, Congressman Scott Perry and State Representative Dawn Keefer will be there. Registration is requested.will hold a Memorial Day Service at the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial, located in Hampden Township Veterans Park, 4345 Marketplace Way, Enola, at 11 a.m May 28. the guest speaker will be retired U.S. Army General Walt Lord. Rain location will be the Hampden Township Volunteer Fire Company, 1200 Good Hope Road, Mechanicsburg. Info: David Getz at 717-234-4182.will hold a 90-minute guided walking tour of the Gettysburg National Cemetery, focusing on the stories of the fallen Vietnam War soldiers buried there, at 4 p.m. May 28. The event is free and will begin at the Taneytown Road entrance to the cemetery.
