The head of Melbourne Law School has stepped aside following more than a year of bureaucratic, administration and communication fails.

In an email to staff and students last week, acting dean Jenny Morgan said the school “will remain focused on addressing the significant challenges that have arisen over the recent period with assessment processes and other issues relating to the student experience”.Melbourne is Australia’s most highly ranked law school based on its research outputs. But students said aMelbourne was ranked eighth best in the world on theand 11th on the QS World University Ranking by subject.

He will be replaced by Professor Morgan “on an interim basis while the university considers future leadership arrangements”. One international student said they had been allocated to an additional exam after suffering a panic attack in the original exam caused by being given the wrong seat number and the wrong paper, and then being made to switch seats mid-exam.The student was unable to find where and when the supplementary exam was to be held and attempts to contact the faculty had failed.
