(AP Photo/Julia Demaree Nikhinson)\Former First Lady Melania Trump sat down with Fox News anchor Dana Perino to discuss her plans for her husband’s second term and her upcoming documentary.
In the interview that aired Monday, Perino pressed Trump on where she would be living during her husband’s administration. “And where will you be spending most of your time? In the White House, Palm Beach, here in New York?” Perino asked. “I will be in the White House. And you know when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach. But my first priority is, you know, to be a mom, to be a First Lady, to be a wife,” Trump responded.Trump told Perino that she has already packed and is preparing to move back into the White House on Jan. 20, adding that she has already selected the furniture. She also said that her son Barron, who attends New York University, will “come and visit” the White House. When asked whether she feels she is in a “different space” than she was eight years ago, Trump suggested that people may not have accepted her as they do now. She also emphasized that she sometimes disagrees with President-elect Donald Trump. “I just feel that people didn’t accept me, maybe. They didn’t understand me the way maybe they do now. And I didn’t have much support,” Trump responded. “Maybe some people, they see me as just the wife of the president, but I’m standing on my own two feet, independent. I have my own thoughts. I have my own yes and no. I don’t always agree what my husband is saying or doing, and that’s okay.
