This comes after Tuesday reports that several more Trump staffers have tested positive for Covid-19.

released Tuesday afternoon, the first lady said residence staff with direct contact of the first family are tested daily, while support staff are tested every 48 hours.

Furthermore, Trump said the residence has hired independent health consultants who check on staff and their families, in addition to a ‘well-being’ consultant focusing on mental health concerns, who staff members can speak to anonymously. “With the recent positive results of the president and first lady, staff wear full [Personal Protective Equipment] and continue to take all necessary precautions, which include updated procedures to protect against cross contamination,” read the first lady’s note.

Before this statement, the White House offered very little detail into how it planned to keep staff safe upon President Trump’s return from Walter Reed hospital Monday night. When pressed for details during a Monday news conference, White House physician Dr. Sean Conley said: “We’ve worked with our infectious disease experts to make some recommendations for how to keep things safe down at the White House for the president and those around him.” The Washington Post
