, Pretti was videotaping US Customs and Border Protection agents on a street in Minneapolis. As seen in footage of the incident, Pretti was helping a woman who agents shoved to the ground when tension escalated, and he was shot.
Following suit, conservative media personality Megyn Kelly shared her take on Pretti, and her words are causing quite the backlash."I know I'm supposed to feel sorry for Alex Pretti but I don't. You know why I wasn't shot by Border Patrol this weekend? Because I kept my ass inside and out of their operations.""Do you know why I wasn't shot by Border Patrol this weekend? Because I kept my ass inside and out of their operations. It's very simple," she said. "If I felt strongly enough about something the government was doing that I would go out and protest, I would do it peacefully on the sidewalk without interfering. Via a whistle, via shouting, via my body, via any other way. I would make my objections known by standing there without interfering, because interfering is where you go south.""What a disgusting thing to say," one person reacted."No one was asking her if she feels bad. She wanted to come out and point out that she doesn't."And they're pointing out everything they see wrong with her statement."'Stay inside' isn't a legal standard," this person said."And it sure as hell isn't a license to shoot."On that point, others suggested that Kelly basically said,"'If you didn't exercise your rights, we wouldn't have to murder you.'"
