Meghan Markle is set to pass on her luxury Cartier watch to Princess Lilibet after receiving a second Cartier timepiece from Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex “splurged” on the Cartier timepiece while she was still working on the cable TV series Suits.

After meeting Prince Harry, Meghan was gifted a second Cartier Tank that was previously owned by her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. She later acquired several other versions of the tank and received multiple Cartier gifts from Dodi Al Fayed in the final months of her life. Designed in 1917, the watch’s name and functional design was inspired by Renault tanks used in the battlefield during the First World War.

In addition to timepieces, Cartier has worked as a jeweller for the royal family for more than 100 years and created the famed Halo tiara worn by Kate Middleton on her wedding day.
