The Korean chain grocery store opened its doors in East Palo Alto with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony Wednesday morning.

Shoppers explore the produce for sale at Jagalchi, a Korean food complex in Daly City. Now the owners have opened Mega Mart, a similar Korean grocery store, in East Palo Alto. The 50,000-square-foot store, which replaces a Target at that location that closed last year, includes groceries, a large Korean beauty section and more. Instagrammer Tony Nguyen, who goes by the handle, shared a sneak peek of the store, highlighting the house-made kimchi, a deli offering ready-to-eat items like kimbap, and the Pogu Picnic takeout counter offering fast-casual meal boxes called “dosirak” from Michelin-starred chef Tony Yoo. There’s also Basquia, the brand’s gluten-free rice flour bakery.On the grocery front, look for the produce aisle with Korean fruits like shine muscat grapes, the ramyun section (including a selection co-branded with the popular Netflix movie “Open today 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and 8 a.m.-9 p.m. daily after that at 1775 E.
