It’s scheduled for the public to share thoughts and comments on HUD Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery funds. The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development has allocated Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery funding to assist the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs in rebuilding and recovering from the damage caused by Hurricanes Sally and Zeta.

The Mobile County Commission will host its first in-person public engagement meeting with the general public to introduce the CDBG-DR funding and proposed activities on Monday, March 11, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the A.J Cooper Municipal Complex at 216 East Prichard Avenue. Officials say the following topics will be discussed: introduction to CDBG-DR and the County Commission’s partnership with ADECA, a walk-through of HUD and ADECA requirements for the CDBG-DR funding, and discussion on unmet needs and goals for the Local Recovery Plan.Homemade kite event attracts people of all ages
