Since 2017, Tech2Peace has been bringing Israelis and Palestinians together to create peace and promote entrepreneurship across the region. Here's the story of two women leading the initiative.

Against on onslaught of negative headlines and violent and disturbing images, cutting through propaganda can take years for some people. Peace seminars can help individuals make the first tear, and provide them with the tools they need to begin seeing humanity in their enemy. That’s exactly what a gathering in Holland did for Bandak in 2007.

“On the israeili and Jewish side there is very strong underlying racism, fear, and hate toward Arabs and Palestinians without anything to back it up,” shares Alon. “It’s just very systematic n how we grew up here. “That’s part of what makes Tech2Peace activities so important because it’s an opportunity to meet the people behind the title. The fact that we meet young leaders, people in their early 20s, is crucial because it’s a very important point in the life cycle of maturity.

“I believe the community we’re cultivating can do this because the clashes in May were really hard for all of them to see,” says Bandak. “They’re peaceful people and they’re also change agents, and that’s what we want. And they get a chance to build startups with people who were once their enemies.”One of the highlights of Tech2Peace’s two-week seminars is a hackathon organized by Google for Startups.
