Meet Sandrine Charles, an eleven-year communication multi-dimensional maven that specializes in the fashion and lifestyle industries, specifically menswear.
Beginning her career working with companies such as Nike Licensee company Haddad Brands, Global Grind under Rush Communications and lastly working at Starworks Group as the Communication Director, Charles’ well-rounded background and networking skills led to the birth of her own communications agency, Sandrine Charles Consulting.
Fluker: Since launching Sandrine Charles Consulting, what was the biggest lesson that you’ve learned in entrepreneurship?My biggest lesson in entrepreneurship is truly learning the ebbs and flows of the business side alone. Though I have an amazing back end support team , it truly all falls on me at the end of the day.
Fluker: As a woman of color, share your experiences within the communications industry. What were some trials and tribulations?Initially, even with extensive experience, many agencies I interviewed for were not selecting me for roles. To be transparent, that was truly disheartening after I spent four semesters interning, learning, gaining experience and networking.
