High-speed thrill rides — especially those involving water — were never far from his thoughts, however.
That’s the date he was granted the U.S. Patent for “amusement power-cable-propelled and channel-guided boat ride structure.” The plaque with his patent has a design etched on it that looks similar to Aquaman although the mechanics differ. “What excites me is that’s where I started as a teenager and that’s something I created in my own mind,” he said. “I didn’t build it through the company and my patents have elapsed but today, it’s just knowing that idea had merit.”“Are you ready?” the ride operator asked the crowd.
