Lone Star “has always had players, always had really athletic players,” Daft said, and he lauded head coach Jeff Rayburn’s ability to develop talent. He makes an annual trip to the perennial contender and, in January of 2021, had his interest piqued by Jeanty and offered the then-junior an opportunity to play at Dartmouth.
He nailed that prediction. Same goes for his belief that Jeanty was destined for something bigger than the Ivy League. Jeanty received 14 more scholarship offers after Dartmouth broke the dam — though only two from power conference teams — before he signed with Boise State. He rushed for 821 yards in his freshman year with the Broncos and broke out with 1,347 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.
