The Sydney funnel-web spider is typically 1 to 2 inches in body length, with a glossy, dark brown to black exoskeleton. It has a robust, stocky body, powerful legs and large, downward-pointing fangs that are easily visible. They also feature prominent spinnerets at the rear, all unmistakable signs that the spider you are looking at is likely a Sydney funnel-web.
