He's a versatile dog who loves hiking, exploring new cities with his family and playing ball.Sparkling eyes, hair with natural highlights and always camera-ready: This might sound like a description of a Hollywood heartthrob, but it equally applies to a North Texas-based star named Stilton, a 4-year-old Australian shepherd with an Instagram following of nearly 100,000 fans.
Stilton was born in France and moved to Dallas with his owners in 2021 — he even has his own passport, a document common for dogs in Europe but not in the United States. Alexina Bonnaventure, Stilton’s “mom,” started sharing photos of Stilton on Instagram as soon as she reserved him from a breeder. His sweet face, blue merle coat and smiley disposition quickly earned him a devoted fan base that grew to the tens of thousands over time..
“Whenever Stilton sees the camera he knows it’s time for ‘work’ and he understands immediately what he needs to do, but I also spend a lot of time taking care of his dog needs,” Bonnaventure shares. “We play Frisbee or fetch almost every day, and he’s the best cuddle companion on a rainy day.” Stilton also loves to hike and explore new cities with his family.When planning their trips, Bonnaventure uses websites that can filter hotels and vacation rentals for pet-friendly options.
When she’s not playing with Stilton or snapping pics, Bonnaventure stays busy overseeing all that comes with the pup’s online fame. She runs a company for Stilton, for which she is the accountant as well as the manager for brand collaborations. She also tests products that companies send her, and she posts all the photos she takes, too. “I love it. It’s very interesting and rewarding, but it’s a lot of work,” she says.
