A look at the Mid-Penn Conference boys wrestlers expected to shine during the coming season.

FILE PHOTOThe winter sports season is upon us and boys wrestling teams throughout the Mid-Penn Conference have already hit the practice mats and are gearing up for another exciting season, filled with competitive dual meets and invitational tournaments.

Sean [email protected] Purdue University commit took a defending state champion to overtime in the 133-pound state final bout. Baum fashioned 48 wins as a sophomore and is the defending District 3, Class 2A champion at 133, Baum took down invitational titles at last year’s Powerade and Escape the Rock tournaments.

Sean [email protected] Northwestern commit won the District 3 Class 2A championship and eventually advanced to the 2A state final bout. Detar finished his sophomore season with a 36-4 record and compiled a 77-7 record in in two varsity seasons. He won the Trojan Wars title at Chambersburg and was second at Mid-Winter Mayhem at Indiana University of Pennsylvania last season.

FILE PHOTOGrossman returns to the Warrior lineup after winning the District 3 Class 3A championship at 122 pounds in his freshman season. Grossman amassed a 39-9 campaign as a freshman.

Sean [email protected]: The Bucknell University commit was a 2A bronze medalist at 145 pounds, winning a memorable bout in the second tiebreaker. Lawler is the defending District 3 Class 2A champion at that weight class. The senior was 44 bouts last season and sports a career record of 114-25.
