A kind-hearted youngster will be collecting donations for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity
Jessica Dick, from Greenock, will be raising money for the charity between 11am and 3pm, on Sunday, August 13 at Cardwell Garden Centre, near Gourock.
After undergoing some routine tests herself at the Royal Hospital for Children and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, the nine-year-old decided to launch her fundraising effort. She was particularly impressed by the kindness and skill of the hospital staff and now wants to return the generosity that they showed her.
Her Mum Carolann McGarrity-Dick added: “We’re very proud of Jessica and her efforts to raise money for the charity.and how she will always find other people who are worse off than she is. Paul Carmichael, the retail general manager at Cardwell Garden Centre, said: “You can only admire Jessica for having the maturity to think about other children, develop an idea of how she can help them and then actually do something about it.
