Meet ‘Famous Dave’ and get free food at the All-Star BBQ event in Long Beach

Six local barbecue teams will show off their cooking skills during this stop of the nationwide BBQ championship series.

The XXL Rib Platter served with two famous sides at Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que. The restaurant’s Long Beach location will host the Nationwide All-Star BBQ Championship Series June 17. The Long Beach competition is one of 15 taking place across the nation at Famous Dave’s restaurants in order to narrow the field down to the best of the best to compete for the world title.

The 12-4 p.m. event is free and open to the public, but get there quick because the first 200 people to show up will be able to get free barbecue samples as they watch the masters grill.
