Pedal bikes are growing in popularity across the state and by spring, Medina residents might see one traveling around their city.

The pedal bike is approximately an $80,000 purchase and Hall and Gerspacher would rent it out for $400 per two hours. The bike would have 10 pedal seats and two non-pedal bench seats on the back of the bike that can seat up to four additional riders. “I want the driver to be able to focus on the driving while the codriver is looking out for our riders,” he said. “I want to make sure the driver has no distractions. I also run a BMV check and a background check on my drivers once a year.”
“I have seen these in multiple locations,” Councilor Paul Rose said. “As long as the law director says it’s good, I’m all for it. The best part is it’s your money not ours.”
