Navigating Medicare can feel overwhelming, but Mackenzie Anderson, Licensed Agent with Premier Medicare Solutions, is here with Trevor Scott to simplify the process — and she’s also joined by one of her customers, Mark, to share firsthand insight into getting the right plan! “We have until December 7th at 11:59 p.m., but please give me a call and choose your option before then. You can still change your plan, but you don’t want to procrastinate. I usually approach this by thinking about how you want your coverage, considering any family history of chronic conditions that could impact your costs. You’re also welcome to bring a list of medications and current doctors, because we want to make sure that whichever plan we choose includes your doctors and keeps your medication costs as low as possible. That’s really important,” Mackenzie said. Mark shared his own experience navigating Medicare for the first time. “So I met Mackenzie right around the time I turned 18. I was trying to figure out the plan I had after being transferred from Medicaid to Medicare, and I felt kind of lost. I didn’t think I would qualify because of my age, but Mackenzie walked me through every step, showing me how to get it and how I could actually receive the coverage,” he said. Trevor noted that Mark’s story might surprise some viewers. “You look really good, and for a lot of people out there, they might be thinking, ‘Wait, I thought Medicare was only for 65 and older.’ But there are exceptions!” “Yes,” Mackenzie added. “You can have Medicare under 65 if you’re on Social Security disability. You need to be on it for 24 months, and then you’re automatically enrolled in the 25th month.” For anyone wanting additional support, Mackenzie also hosts a helpful podcast called *Medicare Matters with McKenzie*, packed with tips and clear explanations for Medicare newcomers and long-time enrollees alike.
