Must be passionate about online news and newspapers and have a strong news sense and interest in current affairs.Writes or rewrites headlines that work well online, not relying on the headlines off the wires, from journalists or those published in print.
Able to correct errors of grammar, typos, etc. and other copy mistakes that doesn’t adhere to the City Press style guideShould be able to prioritise stories, Ability to contextualise stories accurately where required or query with journalists and section editors to research and add required information.Performs quality control checks across platformsThe ideal candidate will have at least three years experience working as a sub editor on a digital platform.
You will be an expert copy editor with a solid understanding of SEO with the ability to write optimised, engaging stand firsts and titles for web. Confident working quickly and accurately to various deadlines you will also be proficient using a CMS.
