The players spent much of Thursday with their parents away from the complex. “We sent them away. They aren’t used to all the strict scheduling,' the team's manager said.
But it was not the typical practice, manager Tom Bradley explained.“I found out who makes their beds at home,” he said. “It was pretty funny.” One player claimed his sheet was too short, he said. He had it turned around.
The team from Media, Delaware County, already achieved their main goal, which was to get to the world series. Now they should try to relax and enjoy it, their manager said Thursday. They regrouped Thursday evening and spent time in the game room before going to bed, he said. “We have to play better than we did,” Bradley said. Needville did not win the game, “we lost it,” he said, referencing their errors.he gathered the team in short right field and told them to relax. “You don’t want to make it all about winning here,” he said. “I’m here to have fun,” he said.
The job the players were challenged to finish along the tournament trail was to get to the world series, Bradley said. They accomplished that, he said.
