A pre-cooked meat producer is recalling nearly 10 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products due to listeria contamination.
, BrucePac recalled roughly 9,986,245 pounds of product after routine testing found evidence of listeria contamination on BrucePac’s ready-to-eat poultry products.The affected products were shipped to distributors and retailers nationwide, and some of the affected products had production dates as late as Oct. 8, 2024.
BrucePac and the USDA are still in the process of pulling together a list of recalled products. Although multiple meat items are subject to recall, the listeria contamination was found in the ready-to-eat chicken products, according to the USDA. Retailers are also being advised to not sell the recalled products and either discard them or return them to their distributors.
