MD Anderson, Houston Methodist again among top hospitals in U.S. News & World Report rankings

The hospital is once again ranked as the nation's top choice for cancer care in this year's U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings.The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has once again been named the top cancer hospital in the nation in this year’s U.S.
“We are proud to be ranked as the nation’s leader in cancer care,” MD Anderson President Dr. Peter WT Pisters said in a news release. “This ongoing recognition is thanks to the incredible MD Anderson community, including our faculty, employees, trainees, students, donors and advocates, who advance our science and our mission and who serve our patients by enabling us to provide the best care possible.
also ranked in six other specialties, including a tie for fifth in urology; 13th in diabetes and endocrinology; and 20th in ear, nose and throat.ranked 15th on the Honor Roll, which recognizes 20 hospitals across the U.S. that offer a high level of care across multiple specialties. This is the sixth time the hospital has been ranked on the Honor Roll, including the fourth year in a row.
Houston Methodist earned national rankings in 10 specialties, including eighth in gastroenterology and GI surgery; ninth in diabetes and endocrinology; 11th in orthopedics; and 13th in cardiology and heart surgery. The hospital also tied for 15th in neurology and neurosurgery and tied for 18th in pulmonology and lung surgery.
